Our country is blessed with many fun and exciting vacation locales. From east to west, north to south there are countless numbers of things for anyone to do or see. Yet, for the individual who desires to have the greatest amount of fun on the water or simply laying on a beach there is one state that rules them all. This state is Texas. Texas and its coastline are legendary for the fun times and great cities that are located there. This brief article will discuss two of the best cities to visit while traveling the Texas coast in search of fun with water.

No trip to Texas would be complete without a trip to the storied Padre Island located near Corpus Christi. This spring break Mecca has many amenities and entertaining activities for one and all. If individuals are more desirous of a quieter beach experience they can move a few miles down to Mustang beach and enjoy the quite solitude of the beach. Individuals should also be sure to visit Galveston whenever wanting to have water fun in Texas. Galveston was once the most important city in the entire state. Many historical buildings and exhibits can be seen there. The beach located at Galveston is also top notch and usually not over crowded.

You know what they say “Everything is bigger in Texas”. Well starting with the state, bigger is very true, so when planning a visit you should consider the miles you will want to drive and focus on what each city has to offer. There are many great entertainment venues in each city. Dallas and Fort Worth, San Antonio, Austin, Houston and Galveston are all super great fun and offer very different attractions.

The capital of the great state is Austin. So in addition to the capital buildings and sites, the University of Texas campus is there, Barton Springs limestone pool, beautiful Lake Travis, hiking, and hill country as well as great shopping and all around fun.

San Antonio is filled with so many activities you could definitely spend the entire vacation here. The Alamo, Sea World, Caverns, Missions, and the San Antonio River Walk. There are more amusement parts, shopping galore and tons of great buys.

Houston and Galveston can certainly be combined to provide beach and city fun. Space Center Houston is a great place to start, shopping at the Galleria is an experience in itself and ice skating inside as well. There are parks and the zoo and Minute Maid Park is a must see. You can head down to the Seawall in Galveston, walk the Strand and visit Moody Gardens to enjoy the beautiful beach there and see some wonderful butterflies. There is enough in the area to keep your family entertained and on the go.

Dallas and Fort Worth are certainly not last on the list, and offer so many great sports for your trip. Depending on what time of year you plan your trip, the State Fair of Texas is something everyone should plan to do once. Fabulous fun, and the best food you can find. Dallas is loaded with art and culture, Six Flags Over Texas, waterparks and sports. You can visit Fort Worth Stockyards, dance the night away at Billy Bob’s Texas and enjoy great food in both cities, as well as some of the best shopping the state has to offer.

Visiting Texas is not just a one trip kind of adventure. Since everything is so much bigger you have to see every city to know all the fun. Plan your trips at different times of year to get the most of our all the family fun and be able to see what each city can offer you in terms of wonderful excitement.

Deep in the heart of Texas are two of the best kept historical German communities, which offer great amenities and lots of family summer fun to boot. New Braunfels and Gruene, Texas are located just minutes from the Guadalupe and Comal Rivers where inter-tubing lazily downriver is not only encouraged, but a must to experience the relaxed and laid back feeling of the old west.

There are many reasons to visit Texas but only one thing you need to do and that’s see it for yourself. Whether you’re looking for the last living cowboys in the country or the most romantic place for a walk, you won’t find it anywhere else in the country than good ol’ Texas.

1. Southern Hospitality (All-Year Round)
You won’t find a better example than Texas. The people, the services, the stores, the kids, even the TXU electricity Dallas TX companies are all characterized with both warmth and the kind of earnest sincerity you won’t find anywhere else.

2. Kite Festival (March)
Get lost in the clouds and imagine that you’re flying during the Zilker Park Kite Festival. It’s America’s oldest continuous kite festival and you’ll get everything including demonstrations of aerial acrobatics, kite-making workshops, stores selling high-end kites and a kite flying contest. It’s the perfect way to get outdoors and enjoy the weather.

3. River Walk (December)
Who says romance is reserved for Valentine’s Day? With the San Antonio River Walk even Christmas can be a time for love and renewal. The waterways are lined with decorative lights and ornaments and the entire area is buzzing with excitement. You can grab a drink and even catch a gondola ride.

America is blessed with many wonderful and interesting vacationing spots. Individuals literally have thousands of locations to choose from. One of the more popular vacationing destinations in the country is the State of Texas. Texas offers many unique and interesting experiences to those who travel there. Texas is well known for its many historical sites, shopping opportunities and natural features. In recent years one of the more popular reasons to visit the state has been to try out the local cuisine. Texas is home to many different varieties of food. Tex-mex, German and even Korean food can be found within the state. By far the most popular form of food for vacationers within the state is barbeque. Barbeque can be found all throughout the nation, but it takes on a special importance within the state of Texas. Each area has their very own unique and special take upon this variety of food. This brief article will discuss what an individual can expect to see when trying out Texas barbeque while in the state of Texas.

Texas barbeque is different than other varieties of barbeque found throughout the nation. Unlike the barbeque found in Kansas City or the Carolina’s Texas Barbeque has a more distinct flavor. Wood smoking, especially with mesquite, is a popular form of cooked barbeque within the state. Also unlike many other areas of the country, individuals can expect to find barbequed meat. While there is the option to enjoy pork products, many within the state prefer brisket and other meat based barbeque. True Texas barbeque is usually eaten without any sauce of any sort. For many the idea of using sauce is heretical and unsound. Expect to find large portions no matter where you go within the state to try barbeque. Enjoy the unique taste and sights of Texas today!

San Antonio has something to offer everyone. Local attractions highlight nature, the arts, recreation, and history.
The San Antonio Zoo houses animals from all continents, and will delight visitors of any age. The institution features hundreds of species of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. The San Antonio Botanical Gardens contain 33 acres of floral splendor, and a butterfly exhibit that is truly amazing.
The San Antonio Museum of Art houses collections of classic and contemporary masterpieces from the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the ancient Mediterranean. A short drive away is the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, which is a multidisciplinary institution celebrating Chicano, Latino, and Native American heritage.
For the sports-minded individual, San Antonio is the host city to the Spurs of the National Basketball Association. The spurs have captured more division titles than any other team in the NBA, and have gone to the playoffs in 19 of the last 20 years. Rodeo also has a dominant place in San Antonio, and the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is one of the largest of its kind in the country.
You cannot come to San Antonio without getting a feel for the history of the place. The San Antonio Missions National Historic Park is the site of four catholic missions, founded by the Spanish in the early 1700-s. The most well know historic site in San Antonio is of course the Alamo, the birthplace of Texas independence and the resting place of Crockett, Travis, and Bowie. Whether your vision of the site includes Fess Parker, John Wayne, or Billy Bob Thornton, a visit to the Alamo is bound to be memorable.

Texas represents the Wild, Wild West for many of us, and what better place to experience this feeling than Big Bend Ranch State Park in southwestern Texas.

The largest of Texas state parks, Big Bend Ranch encompasses more than 300,000 acres in the northern Chihuahuan Desert, extending to the famous Rio Grande River which shares a border with Mexico. The area has been home to Native Americans for more than 11,000 years. Present-day visitors can fish in the Rio Grande just as the early Americans did, or they can go hiking, camping and mountain biking.

Big Bend Ranch even offers visitors a chance to really experience the Old West by going on a cattle drive as wranglers guide dudes in rounding up the park-s herd of longhorn cattle. What could be more western than this!

Take your pick of desert or mountain scenery and activities. See geologic formations that are more than 650 million years old. See waterfalls cascading down canyons. Watch for wildlife including black bear, deer, birds and snakes.

Big Bend Ranch is located between Presidio and Lajitas. Texas has many state parks worth visiting. If you have only time for one, make it Big Bend Ranch State Park.
